TRC Activity Center
TRC moved into the former Jr.High/THS West Campus facility (300 E. US 24/40) in January of 2023. Visitors may park in the lot to the east of the building.
There is currently no cost to use the facility. Beginning March 1st day fees will be charged. Memberships and Punch Cards will also be available beginning in March.

Gym Facility Rules:
Families are welcome to use the gym when they are not reserved for TRC Activities/Events. To see a list of activities currently scheduled, click the Calendar tab on the top of the page. In an effort to provide a safe place for students, our patrons, and TRC staff we have adopted the following rules for TRC's Activity Center:
-All members/guests of the Activity Center must sign in at the reception desk on the main level.
-All youth in 4th grade and below MUST be accompanied by an adult or caretaker at least 16 years of age while at the activity center.
-All TRC staff will be listened to and respected.
-Share the gym/equipment. No full court games when the gym is full.
-TRC equipment is to be used appropriately at all times. Damage to equipment and the facility can occur when balls are kicked (no kicking) or otherwise misused. TRC equipment should remain in the gym. No grabbing/hanging on rims or nets. Do not climb the bleachers unless they are fully pulled out.
-TRC's Activity Center is for family use. Foul language and fighting are not permitted. No running or bouncing balls in the stairs or commons areas.
-Appropriate gym attire must be worn while inside the activity center. This includes gym shoes and pants/shirts.
-The gym exit doors are not to be used except for emergencies. All persons entering/leaving the gym must enter/leave through the main doors on the east side of the facility. Gym doors are not to be used to let friends in/out.
-Water is the only "food" item allowed in the gym. Other food, gum or drinks are not permitted.
-Exercise equipment must be used appropriately. Participants must be in high school to use the cardio equipment. 6th-8th graders may use the equipment if supervised by an adult (18+).
-All patrons must follow all other posted rules at the Activity Center.
Failure to follow the rules may result in TRC staff removing violators from the facility for the day. Other consequences and/or a meeting with the Director and parents may be required before being allowed to reenter the facility.

The Chieftain Park project was completed in 2003 and stands as a testament to the dedicated and forward thinking Commission members, staff and supporters. Chieftain Park is a beautiful green space located at 235 N. Main St. across from the Tonganoxie High School, off of HWY 24-40. Please stop by and check out our park!
Reservations can be made for the shelter house at Chieftain. There is no charge to reserve the shelter. You can check the availability of the shelter on the CALENDAR on this site. You may also reserve the facility online. Create an account or log in to your dashboard at www.tongierec.org and select Facility Reservation button. Print a copy of your receipt and have it with you during your reservation.

Chieftain Park is a beautiful green space located on Main Street across from the Tonganoxie High School, off of HWY 24-40
We also manage the sports complex behind the LV Co. Fairgrounds. This complex plays host to THS baseball/softball games, our youth leagues in the summer and adult softball in the spring/fall. It features 1 baseball diamond with a grass infield and 6 baseball/softball diamonds along with 2 restroom/concession stand facilities. The complex also features space for 6 youth soccer fields. A playground was added in the summer of 2013.
