Basic Dog Obedience Training

This is a foundation level obedience class for dogs four months of age or older.  We will cover the basic skills of sit, down, come, walking on a leash & stay, as well as practicing with distractions, problem solving, and more.  Dogs need to be current on vaccinations & not dog or people aggressive.  For more information check out www.yourbestdog.com or contact the trainer at kdowning@prodigy.net or 913-369-3439.  Kim Downing (CPDT-KA) is an active member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers.

Cowboy Caricature Carving  Print Form>>
You will learn to carve a 6” cowboy figurine.  This class is great for the beginning carver or someone who has some experience and wants to improve their skills.  Basic knife skills and human anatomy will be the focus along with painting and sharpening demonstrations.  Basswood blank and all materials are included in this 8 hour class.

A fun, different way to exercise; emphasizing body & muscle awareness, passive stretching and the natural movements of Middle Eastern Dance.  Using both traditional and modern music, JoAnne will introduce you to muscles you never knew you had before!  Makes a great girls night out.

Autumn is perfect for planting trees! Before you dig yourself into a hole, make sure to get a lesson from Senior Forester, Mark Graves. With your help, Mark will plant a couple trees near the new ball fields at the Fairgrounds, while sharing the basics as well as little known secrets of success. Get your questions answered and leave with knowledge on tree maintenance.

Sitting Santa Carving

Carve a sitting bookshelf Santa with his legs dangling over the edge.  For a carver with little more experience, this unique piece can challenge your skills.  Anatomy, expression and the dynamics of wrinkles will be taught.  This piece can be detailed as much or as little as time and skill of the carver allow.  Basswood blank and all materials are included in this 8 hour class

Back by popular demand! Work with our Certified Personal Trainer to discover workout drills and techniques that will help you meet your fitness goals. Class time divided into cardiovascular and resistance training. Each class will end with a Q&A session on nutrition and weight loss.
